These terms apply when you use familydogonline.com, create an account, sign up for classes or lessons, or chat with Halo & Kona. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site, and call us instead. We’re happy to help by phone.
Who we are
This site is run by Kathy Lang Dog Training Services, Inc., doing business as Family Dog Training Center (“we,” “us”), 1509 Central Avenue South, Kent, Washington 98032, (253) 854-9663.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account. A parent or guardian signs up children who take part in classes and is responsible for them.
- Please give us accurate information and keep it up to date, especially your phone number and your dog’s details.
- Keep your password private. You’re responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else has used it, send us a message right away.
- We may suspend or close an account that’s used to break these terms or put others at risk.
Classes, lessons and payment
- Our Class Policies (make-ups, refunds and cancellations) and our Fee Schedule are part of these terms.
- A spot in a class is yours once your registration and payment are complete. Prices, schedules and instructors can change.
- Card payments are handled by Authorize.net on its secure page. By paying, you confirm you’re allowed to use the card.
- Before a class, private lesson or building rental, you’ll be asked to sign an agreement for it. That agreement applies in addition to these terms.
Safety at our facility
- You’re responsible for your dog and for anyone who comes with you, including children, while you’re at our facility.
- Please follow our instructors’ directions and any rules posted at the facility.
- Tell us about any bite history, aggression or health concern before class. For your dog’s and everyone’s safety, we may ask you to schedule a private lesson instead of a group class.
Training information and results
Every dog is different, and results depend on practice at home. We can’t guarantee any particular result. The articles, handouts, videos and tips on our site are general information. They don’t replace hands-on guidance from an instructor, and they aren’t veterinary advice. For aggression or biting, contact the office. For any health concern, see your veterinarian.
Our chat assistant
Halo & Kona is an automated chat assistant that uses artificial intelligence (AI) from Anthropic. It can make mistakes, so please check anything important, such as dates, prices and your class details, with the office. It gives general training tips only, not professional, veterinary or legal advice. Please don’t type in card numbers, passwords or other sensitive information. Our Privacy Policy explains how chats are handled.
Using the site fairly
Please don’t:
- Use the site for anything unlawful, or to harass, threaten or mislead anyone.
- Try to get into accounts or parts of the site that aren’t yours, or interfere with how the site works.
- Send spam, or use bots or automated tools to copy the site, fill out forms or flood the chat.
- Upload anything you don’t have the right to share.
Content
The text, photos, handouts, logos and other content on this site belong to Family Dog Training Center or the people who gave us permission to use them. You may view and print them for your own personal, non-commercial use, for example to practice with your dog. Please don’t copy, sell or republish them without our written permission.
When you send us information, photos or messages through the site, you still own them. You give us permission to use them to provide our services to you.
Other websites
Our site links to other sites and shows some content from other companies, such as calendars and maps. We aren’t responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
Disclaimer and limit of liability
We work hard to keep the site accurate and running, but we provide it “as is” and can’t promise it will always be available, error-free or up to date. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the site, and our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to the amount you paid us for the class or service involved. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that can’t be waived under the law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Each change is a new version with its date at the top. When we make a change you need to accept, we’ll ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in.
Washington law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in King County, Washington. If we have a problem, we’d much rather talk it through first, so please contact us.
