Get your dog ready for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. We practice the test exercises, and the evaluation is held in week 6 of the class.
- Prerequisite Advanced Home Obedience, successfully completed
- Length 6 weekly one-hour classes
- Cost $265 for a 6-week session, sales tax included
- The test CGC evaluation in week 6. Open to all breeds, mixed breed and purebred.
Bring your dog to the first class. Please come with your dog and your current training equipment in week 1.

An introduction to walkers, wheelchairs and other situations your dog might meet in therapy work.
Ready for the test
Graduates are prepared to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, held in week 6.
Is this the right class for my dog?
It’s probably for you if:
- Your dog has successfully completed Advanced Home Obedience.
- You’d like your dog to earn the AKC Canine Good Citizen title. The test is open to all breeds, including mixed breeds.
- You’re thinking about therapy work. The CGC title is the basis for therapy dog training and certification.

About the Canine Good Citizen test
Is your dog a Canine Good Citizen? The AKC test is open to mixed breed as well as purebred dogs. Dogs who pass receive an official certificate from the AKC.
We hold the evaluation at the end of our CGC session, in week 6. To take it, sign up for an upcoming class, or join the wait list to hear when we hold the next one.
